The weather outside is nothing short of frightful, with even more snow heading to the city this weekend and into next week. My new motto: Face the snow with a smile. I’m not the only one embracing the frigid temps — in the midst of last weekend’s blizzard, one local turned the Brooklyn streets into ski slopes

Whether you’re looking for cozy, warm escapes from the cold or seeking out a daring snow day mission, this week’s BKLYN LIVE has a lineup of events you won’t want to miss.

Gray Hair? This Is How You Reduce It Naturally

Dye fixes gray hair… by giving you a new problem: looking dyed. Particle Anti-Gray Serum is the all-natural, non-dye, no-mess solution for men who want their real color back, not a recreation of it.

The 5-second daily spray works gradually at the root to restore pigment for natural, visible results on your hair and beard.

Unlike hair dyes that aggressively color your hair and require annoying upkeep, Particle Anti-Gray Serum is clean and extremely easy to use. It stimulates the melanin inside the hair and does not use artificial color.

In a borough known for disciplines such as street dance and hip-hop, the traditional form of ballet can feel out of step with Brooklyn’s rhythm. This dissonance is why Lynn Parkerson, founder and artistic director of the Brooklyn Ballet, has spent more than two decades shaping the centuries-old art form to reflect Brooklyn’s unique cultural spark.

Parkerson is a classically trained dancer who toured throughout the United States and Europe before returning to New York to dance, choreograph, direct and teach ballet. She moved to Brooklyn in 1998. “At that point, I just was ready to do something,” she told the Brooklyn Eagle.

Parkerson’s journey to build a successful dance company faced many ups and downs. Now, in “Soft Power,” the company’s spring 2026 season, Parkerson and her collaborators hope to reflect Brooklyn Ballet’s roots in the borough by blending interdisciplinary dance and themes of identity, gender, generations and cultures.

Acclaimed author and illustrator Oliver Jeffers’ Brooklyn Museum exhibition “Life At Sea” hosts a special World Water Day workshop on Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22.

Representatives from the Pacific Island Film Festival, National Geographic and the Laura Beya Collective will lead the family-friendly workshops, which include educational segments about conservation and marine life as well as interactive art projects.

Jeffers is a multidisciplinary artist known for his children’s books and illustrations. He spoke to the Brooklyn Eagle about the importance of children’s literature. His work is currently on display in the Brooklyn Museum through April 26.
